Our Independent of the month for March is: Chuck’s Produce! They are a specialty food store located in Washington, but they are so much more than your average grocery store. They have 2 locations: Mill Plain (13215 SE Mill Plain Blvd. Vancouver, WA 98684) and Salmon Creek Store (2302 NE 117th Street Vancouver, WA. 98686). Even though they are not wide-spread, they are able to provide a lot for the local communities. Both locations are open Monday-Friday and Sundays.
Chuck’s Produce is adamant about giving back to those who need it. They partner with organizations like Meals on Wheels/Loaves and Fishes, MDA, and March of Dimes in addition to their local schools and smaller organizations in the community. Naturally, we have to talk about most important part of their name: Produce! Their produce department includes a wide variety of fruits and vegetables including organic ones. It also takes up a whole quarter of the entire store. You might even be able to find something new to try that you haven’t before!
Besides a great produce section, Chuck’s Produce also has a coffee shop and deli. It’s a great place to enjoy goodies from their artisan bakery as well as the many other delicious products they have. And if you want to have them at your next event or party: Chuck’s Produce does catering. Lastly, something unique they offer is a Seasonal Potting Shed. This is a place where local artists can sell their creations and customers can purchase all types of flowers and plants to take home with them.
