Our Independent of the Month for June is Mollie Stone’s Market in northern California!  Since its founding in October 1986, Mollie Stone’s has expanded to 9 locations and remains one of the few independently owned grocery chains in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Mollie Stone’s Markets is an unwavering supporter of its’ community and surrounding areas through donation programs like eScript, and the sponsorship of various local organizations.

One of their missions is to:

“Surpass customer expectations with superior service, exciting variety, and quality products in a fun and positive environment for our customers and employees”

Mollie Stone’s recently celebrated their 30 year anniversary with a grand re-opening of their Sausalito location.  CEO Mike Stone says “Our goal 30 years ago was to bring local and organic food to our community and to make a difference in people’s lives though food.  We later added conventional groceries to make our stores ‘the best of both worlds.  We couldn’t be more proud of all that we have accomplished and look forward to continue providing exceptional service and the best quality and healthiest foods for years to come!” (Press Release)

There are three original programs implemented in various Mollie Stone’s stores and we would like to highlight those!  The first is the Molliebus!  This bus will take customers home after their shopping is complete; all that is needed is your receipt from the store that day to board! [Note: the Mollie bus does not pick up customers from their homes, you must get to the store location on your own] This amazing feature is currently only available at their Pacific Heights and Castro locations. Mollie Bus at Mollie Stone's Market

Their second program is Mollieland.  This is a built in day-care for kids ages 2-12 at their San Mateo location.  It allows parents to shop distraction-free while their little ones can have fun!  This service is offered 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10AM-6PM and Sundays 11AM-6PM).

Lastly, their San Bruno location features an in store Ace Hardware completely integrated into the store.  Here, you can easily copy keys, rent a carpet cleaner, propane exchange, or match paint samples!  No need for extra errands, Mollie Stone’s can be your one stop shop!

Mollie Stone’s is an excellent representation of an independent market.  We would like to thank them for now making StarLite Cuisine products available in their store!  So go ahead and make a trip to see all they have to offer as well as picking up some StarLite Cuisine Vegan Taquitos, Rolled Tacos, or Enchiladas.  Our products are on sale all month (June 2018) at every Mollie Stone’s location.
