Background

PCC defines a CO-OP as “a farm, business, or other organization that is owned by its members, who share the profits or benefits”. Their co-op operates by holding it’s products to high standards and complete transparency to their customers.

PCC provides a variety of quality items in all of their departments. Their local and organic produce is stocked from Northwestern farmers. You will find grocery aisles filled with non-GMO, healthful, and organic products. Their bulk items are an easy way to reduce packaging. They even have a comprehensive list of their many items available on their website. PCC keeps all of their ingredients fresh. Cakes and cupcakes from the bakery are customizable to your flavor combination of choice. Sides and Entrees from their seasonal deli menu make a delicious addition to any party or event.

Bulk items from PCC can be purchased in reusable containers like these glass jars.

Environmental Efforts

PCC has been designing their stores to reduce their environmental impact since the 1990s. They are committed to creating stores that are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified. To reduce water waste stores have included equipment such as WaterSense fixtures, sub-meters and efficient equipment (website). Furthermore, PCC Markets are also conscious about food waste. Their efforts include: sending extras to Food Banks, composting at stores, and optimizing deli food preparation. low carbon transportation. PCC is leading the way in providing commendable example of an environmentally conscious destination.
