Our Independent of the Month for November is Rabbit Food Grocery! We are so excited to feature Rainbow Grocery as this month’s Independent of the Month! They are located in San Francisco, CA and are open 9am-9pm every day. Rainbow Grocery was opened in 1975 by Rich Israel, Janet Crolius, Bill Crolius, and John David Williams. These determined individuals had a goal to make vegetarian food more accessible to their surrounding community. To implement this they began with a bulk food-buying program. Since then they have changed locations (twice!), expanded their number of departments, and continued to inspire sustainable living in the neighboring communities.
Our Independent of the month for March is: Chuck’s Produce! They are a specialty food store located in Washington, but they are so much more than your average grocery store. They have 2 locations: Mill Plain (13215 SE Mill Plain Blvd. Vancouver, WA 98684) and Salmon Creek Store (2302 NE 117th Street Vancouver, WA. 98686). Even though they are not wide-spread, they are able to provide a lot for the local communities. Both locations are open Monday-Friday and Sundays.
